These 3 Sports Have Asked For Permission To Continue The Competition, When Will Football?
JAKARTA - The government's policy to implement new norms in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic has been used by a number of sports to hold competitions again. Basketball and soccer have clearly determined when the competition will resume.
The Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) has determined that the competition will continue on September 4. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) said the League 1 and League 2 competitions would resume in September or October.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, revealed that there have been three sports that have met with the COVID-19 Task Force Team with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to obtain permission to hold exercises, tournaments or competitions. The three sports are badminton, shooting and basketball. Interestingly, PSSI has not done the same.
Meanwhile, PBSI has held a tournament. The parent of badminton has already held a Home Tournament which started last week.
According to the Menpora, we will still communicate the decision to hold competitions, tournaments or exercises to the COVID-19 Task Force. Kemenpora, he continued, only issues general sports protocols.
"Most importantly, I must prioritize the health and safety of athletes. We will not be able to reap achievements if athletes are sick or exposed to COVID-19,"

As previously reported, the IBL operator held an audience with Deputy 1 of the COVID-19 Task Force, Wisnu Widjaja, in order to obtain permission to hold a continuation of the competition. In this meeting, IBL explained the activity plan and the things that had been prepared.
During the meeting, IBI also asked for direction from the task force on the steps that must be followed in order to continue the competition. They also submitted health protocol documents in the form of training guides and guidelines for organizing activities that had been compiled. The hope is that there will be input from the COVID-19 Task Force if improvements are needed.
