Bakamla Thwarts Illegal Transactions Of Diesel Fuel In Batam Waters

BATAM - The Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) ship KN Pulau Dana-323 and KN. Laut Star-401 secured two ships suspected of carrying out illegal transactions to move diesel fuel in the waters of Jodoh Bay, Batam City, Riau Islands.

"Bakamla RI managed to thwart illegal fuel transactions and secured two vessels that were caught red-handed moving fuel cargo in the waters of Jodoh Bay, Batam," Bakamla said in an official broadcast confirmed by his public relations official, Captain Bakamla Yuhanes Antara. , Tuesday, December 17th.

The two ships that were secured were the MV ship. Segara Fleet and SPOB CIPTA 02.

Yuhanes explained that the arrest of illegal High Speed Diesel (HSD) or diesel fuel transactions originated from public reports through the Bakamla RI call center.

The report was forwarded to the Bakamla RI Command and Control Center (Puskodal) and followed up by KN Pulau Dana-323 and KN Bintang Laut-401 monitoring at the location.

"KN. Dana Island - 323 commanded by Lt. Col. Bakamla Umar Dani, and KN. Bintang Laut - 401, which was commanded by Lt. Col. Bakamla Andi Christi Mahendra, immediately moved quickly to carry out monitoring in the waters of Jodoh Bay," he said.

Then at 05.00 WIB, he said, the joint patrol team managed to get visual contact with two ships which were strongly suspected of conducting aship toship transipulation (STS), precisely at 01.51 U - 103 deg 57.88 T.

"The patrol team will immediately approach and identify the two ships," he said.

At 05.15 WIB, he continued, the joint team managed to enter SPOB CIPTA 02 to carry out inspections and searches.

Yushanes said the results of the inspection showed that the two ships were caught red-handed carrying out illegal fuel transactions.

"MV. The Segara Fleet is known to be issuing diesel fuel to be accommodated by SPOB Cipta 02," he said.

The results of further investigation by the joint team found that 23 kiloliters (kl) of HSD type fuel were in the SPOB Cipta 02 tank.

Furthermore, the two ships were secured by the joint patrol team of the Indonesian Bakamla for further investigation.

Yuhanes added that this success shows the commitment of the Indonesian Bakamla in maintaining the maritime security of Indonesia and eradicating illegal activities that are detrimental to the state.
