Responding To Shin Tae-yong's Complaints About The 2024 AFF Cup Format, Erick Thohir: Everything Is Overcoming
JAKARTA - PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Erick Thohir responded to the complaint of the head coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, regarding the schedule format for the 2024 AFF Cup. According to him, whatever the tournament format is, everything must be tiring.
Previously, Shin Tae-yong highlighted the tight schedule of the 2024 AFF Cup which was considered too close. The coach said, this situation greatly affects the performance of the players and raises injury concerns.
The coach's satisfaction was then responded to by Erick Thohir. According to the chairman of PSSI, all tournaments will certainly provide their own challenges.
He also asked the head coach to respond wisely for the good of the squad.

"Yes, all the formats must be tiring. Because of that, I didn't force the league to stop. We focus on young players, indeed, yes, all the formats are always tiring," said Erick Thohir after the event in Jakarta on Monday, December 16, 2024.
Furthermore, Erick Thohir also emphasized that the most important thing right now is that coaches can guard the Indonesian national team through challenges well and perform optimally.
"I hope whatever we have programmed, all commitments, don't talk much, don't complain too much, and just focus."
"We focus on the program we have agreed on. The PSSI program is good, the coaches are good, and the players must be good," he said.
Meanwhile, currently the Indonesian national team is in second place in the 2024 AFF Cup Group B standings. Shin Tae-yong's team have packed four points from three matches, one win, one draw, and one defeat.
