TNI Deploys 79,247 Soldiers To Help Secure Christmas And New Year
JAKARTA - The TNI Headquarters deployed a total of 79,247 soldiers from three dimensions to help the National Police keep the situation safe and conducive, especially in vulnerable areas and strategic areas during Christmas Day celebrations until the New Year.
Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Maj. Gen. Hariyanto explained that the security support was given ahead of the D day, D, until the end of the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.
"The TNI deployed tens of thousands of personnel throughout Indonesia from land, sea and air, according to the needs of each region, with a total of 79,247 personnel, consisting of 56,511 Army soldiers, 19,793 Navy soldiers, and 2,943 Indonesian Air Force soldiers," Kapuspen said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 16.
Priority security areas include transportation routes, including ports, airports, train stations, and highways, then tourist attractions that become the center of crowds during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

He said TNI soldiers involved in security tasks also anticipate the threat of terrorism or other security disturbances.
The TNI also continues to coordinate with the National Police, relevant ministries/agencies, and local governments in mapping potential threats during Christmas and New Year celebrations in various regions of Indonesia.
Anticipatory measures have been prepared to deal with various possibilities, including extreme weather disturbances or natural disasters that often occur at the end of the year, said Major General Hariyanto.
