Prabowo Instructs Security For Christmas Worship And Year-End Holidays
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto instructed all relevant ministries and stakeholders to ensure smooth, safety and security for more than 110 million people who will be active during the Christmas and New Year 2025 celebrations.
This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) after attending the agenda of the limited meeting of Nataru Preparations at the Presidential office, Jakarta.
"Mr. President Prabowo conveyed and emphasized to ministries and stakeholders who are responsible for the issue of smoothness, safety and security of Nataru, especially convincing that our brothers and sisters who celebrate this Christmas can worship well and feel safe and comfortable," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 16.
In the closed meeting, AHY revealed that the government had made thorough preparations to ensure smooth travel during Nataru.
The government will focus on identifying the challenges that people may face, especially those that will travel during the Nataru period, which is predicted to experience a significant increase.
One of the important preparations conveyed was securing vital locations, such as houses of worship and community travel routes.
According to AHY, the National Police Chief has also provided an explanation regarding the preparation of Polri personnel who will be backed up by the TNI to secure various points, including land, sea, air, and rail transportation modes.
The Minister of Transportation also reported that all transportation facilities and infrastructure had been well prepared to accommodate around 110 million people who were expected to travel.
"We monitor through the command center, posts held at various points that have vulnerabilities or vulnerabilities to situations that make traffic need to be better controlled," he said.
In terms of infrastructure, said AHY, the Minister of Public Works ensures that toll road facilities and national roads are in good condition.
AHY also emphasized that the availability of fuel and electricity as long as Nataru has been ensured to be safe and stable, with ongoing anticipatory steps.
"From the trade sector, it was also explained that the prices of basic commodities are also expected to remain stable," he said.
