KAI Saves State Assets Worth More Than IDR 1 Trillion Throughout 2024

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI is committed to maintaining and optimizing state assets in the form of land and buildings mandated by the government. The total assets of the state that have been saved have reached more than IDR 1 trillion throughout 2024.

KAI Vice President Public Relations, Anne Purba said that in addition to moving in rail transportation services, KAI also continues to optimize assets in the form of land and buildings through various forms of commercial cooperation.

In 2022, KAI managed to curb 933,058.21 m2 of land and buildings with an asset value of IDR 1,696,107,018,408. In 2023, KAI again managed to control land and buildings covering an area of 729,680.32 m2 worth IDR 2,086,050,525,471.

"From January to December 13, 2024, KAI has brought order to assets covering an area of 796,602.89 m2 with a value of Rp1,034,477,721,248," he said in an official statement, Sunday, December 15.

Anne said this success could not be separated from the solid collaboration between KAI and various stakeholders, including the government, the National Land Agency (BPN), the Attorney General's Office, the TNI, the Police, and other parties.

This collaboration, continued Anne, is very important to ensure that the asset control process runs smoothly and in accordance with applicable regulations. Even so, he said the control process was certainly not without challenges.

One of the most recent challenges occurred in controlling assets in Daop 7 Madiun, where there was violence committed by illegal residents against KAI employees. The house, which was occupied illegally, previously had a lease agreement that ended in 2020, but residents have not made rental payments since.

"Legal efforts to study by Komnas HAM prove that the house is a legal asset belonging to KAI," said Anne.

Anne said KAI's house was occupied by parties who did not have rights. KAI has carried out procedures according to the rules, including coordinating with the Madiun City Kejari to ensure control runs in an orderly manner.

In addition to controlling state assets, KAI also continues to increase asset value through various commercialization efforts. This step includes branding cooperation at stations, trains, and naming rights.

Currently, he continued, KAI has collaborated on naming rights at four stations, namely Semarang Tawang Station, Central Java Bank, BNI City Station, Jabodebek Pancoran LRT Station Bank BJB, and Jabodebek Dukuh Atas BNI LRT Station.

This commercialization effort makes a positive contribution not only to the company's revenue, but also to the state through taxes and dividends. We thank all parties who have supported the process of controlling and managing KAI assets. This is a shared commitment to safeguarding and optimizing the state assets that are mandated to us," said Anne.
