Preparations For Ketapang And Gilimanuk Ports Welcome Tourists Ahead Of The Nataru Holiday
Deputy Minister of Tourism (Wamenpar) Ni Luh Puspa conducted an inspection of the readiness of the Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi and Gilimanuk Port in Bali ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.
During his visit on Saturday, December 14, 2024, Ni Luh checked the readiness of the infrastructure and facilities available at the two ports.
The focus includes complete facilities such as arrival flow, cleaning toilets for tourist comfort, as well as other public facilities such as monitoring rooms, customer service, and breastfeeding rooms.
"We have coordinated with the port to ensure services and security at Ketapang and Gilimanuk ports, which are the main gates for tourists by sea, in facing Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025," Ni Luh said as quoted by Antara.
In addition, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh also visited special Christmas and New Year posts involving various parties, including the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Police, and the Ministry of Tourism.
He emphasized the importance of active coordination between PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) or ASDP and related institutions, especially with BMKG, to anticipate potential weather changes that could affect port operations.
"All parties must have an emergency plan to deal with unexpected situations. This readiness is very important for the safety and comfort of tourists," added Ni Luh.
As part of this preparation, the Ministry of Tourism has issued a Circular Letter of the Minister of Tourism Number SE/1/PP.03.00/MP/2024 which contains guidelines for organizing safe and comfortable tourism activities during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year celebrations.
Ni Luh explained that this circular aims to ensure the best service for tourists through cooperation with various parties.

General Manager of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Ketapang Branch, Yani Andrianto, revealed that ASDP has prepared a buffer zone to manage the queues of vehicles that will cross.
In addition, the geofencing regulatory system has been implemented to prevent illegal ticket sales and brokering practices, so that tourists can feel more comfortable.
