In The Aftermath Of The 2024 DKI UMP Increase Demo, The Joint TNI-Polri Apparatus Takes Strict Care Of The PJ Governor Heru's Private House

JAKARTA - The private house of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi, in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta, is closely guarded by members of the TNI and Polri following a labor demonstration in front of the DKI Jakarta Governor's Office regarding the demand for an increase in wages, Tuesday, November 21.

The uniformed officers from the two TNI and Polri agencies guarded tightly at the entrance portal to the house of PJ Governor of DKI Heru Budi on Jalan Swadaya Raya, Kavling DKI, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.

"While no one has come (labor) yet. We'll just be careful," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police, AKP Indra Darmawan at the location, Tuesday, November 21, afternoon.

From VOI's observation, at around 17.40 WIB there was no mass action of workers who came to the house of the number 1 person in Jakarta.

Previously, it was rumored that there would be a mass of workers who would raid the house of the Governor of DKI Jakarta in the aftermath of the upcoming 2024 UMP increase demonstration.

Although there has been no mass movement, the joint officers do not want to be missed because the residence of the Governor of DKI Jakarta PJ is a private house.

Reportedly, demonstrations by labor groups in front of the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Medan Merdeka Selatan Street were chaotic.

This demonstration demands an increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) for DKI Jakarta in 2024 by 15 percent.

This action has been held since this afternoon. They are waiting for the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to announce the determination of an increase in the UMP next year.

At around 15.00 WIB, workers tried to break into the fence of the DKI City Hall which was Heru Budi's workplace. They continued to shake the fence while oding until 15:15 WIB the fence broke.

Police officers who were on guard from the DKI City Hall yard immediately moved forward blocking access from the broken fence. The fence that was successfully occupied by the workers was then taken to the middle of the road, before being finally secured by the authorities.

Before long, the police immediately deployed a water canon car and a mob dispersal car. In front of the workers, the police who wore helmets and shields formed a line trying to push the masses back.
