Taylor Swift's Karma Has Experienced An Increase In Streaming Since Its Lyrics Were Changed For Travis Kelce
JAKARTA - Taylor Swift's number of streams for Karma increased earlier this week after the pop singer changed the lyrics during a concert in Argentina for her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
Last weekend, November 11, while performing in Argentina, Swift changed Karma's lyrics to Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me, who immediately received boisterous cheers from concert audiences and Kelce herself, who flew for the concert.
Changes in the lyrics and Swift's moment off stage to kiss Kelce at the end of the concert seemed to at the same time confirm rumors for weeks that the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs member had been dating.
Following this change in Karma's lyrics, the original song has improved performance on streaming services.
According to a report from Rolling Stone, with data provided by Lumite, Karma jumped nearly 22 percent on Monday, November 13 on streaming platforms to more than 993,000 from about 817,000 the previous day.
Karma also saw an increase in sales, surging from 157 to 783 units or 117 percent, according to Lumite data. Although not a big leap, Karma's revival is now putting the song back in the iTunes sales chart in 11th position.

On Friday, November 10, it was also announced that Swift received six new Grammy nominations. The ceremony, which will take place on February 4, 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, may see the pop star make history.
With 52 nominations throughout her career and 12 wins, her Midnights album (2022) matched Barbra Streisand's icon for the most female artist nominations in the Best Album category of this Year. If she wins, Swift will be the first to win the category four times.
