LPS Records Total Translucent Assets Of IDR 210 Trillion

BANDUNG - The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) recorded total assets that reached Rp210 trillion, according to the Executive Director of Claims and Resolution of Bank LPS Suwandi, this figure experienced a growth of 12.25 percent compared to 2022 which was recorded at Rp187.09 trillion.

"Our total money is IDR 210 trillion, with an initial capital of IDR 4 trillion, then the assets are around IDR 195 trillion," Suwandi said in a Media Workshop in Bandung, Thursday, November 9.

Suwandi explained that LPS's assets can be donated to Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), but provided that the assets are equivalent to 2.5 percent of the total deposits of all banking industries.

"For example, assets of Rp. 10 thousand trillion, which means there must be Rp. 250 trillion. Our guarantee reserves have arrived there or not, if the surplus revenue generated by LPS is allocated for guarantee reserves, it will be deposited with non-tax state revenues," said Suwandi.

However, this cannot be done because the current number of LPS assets has not touched 2.5 percent.

As for Article 81 of Law Number 24 of 2004 concerning Deposit Insurance Corporations, it is stated that LPS' initial capital is a separated state wealth and is set at least IDR 4 trillion to IDR 8 trillion.

So the LPS's source of income came from the government's initial capital of IDR 4 trillion, then the contribution of participation paid by banks registered to become participants, the bank's insurance premium every semester was 0.1 percent of third party funds (DPK), as well as the proceeds from guarantee reserve investment.
