MKMK: All Evidence Of Alleged Ethical Violations Is Complete
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) Jimly Asshiddiqie said all evidence related to the alleged violation of the code of ethics by the Constitutional Court (MK) was complete, including witness statements and experts.
"Actually, if you are an expert, all the reporters are all experts," said Jimly, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 3.
Jimly said it was not difficult to prove the case of alleged violation of the code of ethics by nine judges related to Case Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 regarding the age limit for presidential/cawapres candidates at least 40 years or once/in a position chosen through general elections including regional head elections.
"Moreover, we have checked CCTV. Why are there changes that are then withdrawn? Why is there an internal chaos? Why did it come out?" said Jimly.
The MKMK chairman questioned the confidential information that was leaked to the public. This proves that there is a problem.
"Of course there are collective problems, these are nine judges with problems. There is a matter of omission, there is a matter of work culture," said Jimly.
Jimly said that the Constitutional Court judges should be independent, they can influence the judges as long as they use common sense.
"You don't use healthy clothes, don't make sense. You look for interests, that's badminton too," said Jimly.
All witnesses, said Jimly, have been questioned, the MKMK only needs to formulate a decision on the 21 reports received.
Today the MKMK asked for clarification from the reporter and/or to examine Case Number 21/MKMK/L/ARLTP/X/2023, as well as listen to expert statements for Case Number 14/MKMK/L/ARLTP/X/2023.
MKMK also summoned Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman for questioning related to alleged violations of the code of ethics.
