Pertamina Lowers Pertamax Price, Observer: Positive Impact On The Country
JAKARTA - Economic observer Yetty ME assessed that the decline in Pertamax's fuel oil (BBM) prices has made a positive contribution to the country.
"Although this decline in fuel has not affected public consumption, it can have a positive impact on the country," said Yetty, quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, November 2.
According to him, the variable for forming the Pertamax fuel economic price is that world crude oil prices have decreased.
Because, when the price difference between subsidized fuel and Pertamax is getting smaller, the level of public consumption of Pertamax fuel continues to increase.
"So that the fuel subsidy that has been allocated by the state can be used for other national strategic policies," he said.
Thus, said Yetty, the reduced consumption of Pertalite has an impact on the smaller the burden on the country to subsidize fuel.
Previously reported, PT Pertamina again adjusted the price of Pertamax fuel oil (BBM) as of November 1, 2023.
Thus, the prices of Pertamax, Pertamax Green 95, Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex fuel fell.
As for Pertalite or subsidized fuel, there has been no change.
Pertamina's Vice President for Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso said non-subsidized fuel prices every month as of the 1st had adjusted to follow market prices.
"Pertamina's fuel price is the most competitive to maintain people's purchasing power," he said.

"Including that we also do efficiency, so that it can save production costs, Pertamina's fuel will remain competitive," said Fadjar.
The fuel price adjustment is in order to implement the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) of Energy and Mineral Resources number 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 as a change to Ministerial Decree No. 62 K/12/MEM/2020 concerning Basic Price Formula in Calculation of Retail Selling Prices Types of General Oil Types of Gasoline and Solar Oil distributed through gas stations.
