12 Dealers In Banyumas Arrested By Police, 1 Suspect Is 8 Months Pregnant

JATENG - The Banyumas Police arrested 12 drug dealers, psychotropics, and other illegal drugs from the period September 6-16 October 2023.

"Of the 12 dealers we arrested, 7 of them acted as dealers. They were arrested based on the 10 police reports we received," said Head of the Banyumas Police Narcotics Unit Kompol Muchammad Yogi Prawira during a press conference at the Banyumas Police, Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Tuesday, October 17, confiscated by Antara.

He said the 10 police reports consisted of 4 narcotics cases involving 5 suspects and 6 psychotropic cases and other illegal drugs involving 7 suspects.

According to him, 5 narcotics suspects consist of AG who are dealers with evidence of 25.14 grams of crystal methamphetamine, DGT and DI who are dealers with evidence of 21.19 grams of crystal methamphetamine, DBP (band) with evidence of 20.74 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and the US (distort) with evidence of 10.18 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, 7 suspects in the psychotropic case and other illegal drugs consist of TDP who are dealers with evidence of 40 psychotropic pills and 5,500 pills of illegal drugs, GCS (bandal) with evidence of 4,450 pills of illegal drugs.

Furthermore, MSR and TA (bandar) who are husband and wife with evidence of 340 psychotropic items and 2,250 pills of illegal drugs, FAW (distort) with 420 pieces of psychotropic evidence and 200 pills of illegal drugs.

Then W who is a dealer with evidence of 300 psychotropic pills and DS (the dealer) with evidence of 40 psychotropic pills.

"We did not present the suspect with the initials TA here because he was 8 months pregnant and is currently being held at the Banyumas Detention Center," he said.

Yogi explained that the total amount of evidence confiscated was 77 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1,180 psychotropic items, and 12,400 pills of illegal drugs, while the other evidence confiscated was 8 units of motorcycles, 13 units of cell phones, 2 units of scales, 1 bong, and Rp4,400,000.

Regarding the legal entanglement for the suspects, he said that the narcotics suspect was charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, while for suspects in psychotropic cases and other illegal drugs were charged with Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health and / or Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics.

"The threat of punishment for narcotics suspects is a maximum imprisonment for life and/or 20 years in prison, while for illegal and psychotropic drugs a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison," said Yogi.

In the press conference, the Daily Executive Head of the Banyumas Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) Wicky Sri Erlangga Adityas welcomed the performance of the Banyumas Police who had arrested 12 drug dealers in the past month.

According to him, his party is actively working with the Banyumas Police, especially on how to prevent and eradicate drug abuse.

"Of course, according to us, BNN, we are indeed the core in narcotics. So indeed we have limited authority to eradicate narcotics, while for medicines and psychotropic substances, we are more in the realm of rehabilitation," he said.
