Dozens Of Singers And Musicians Present At Tribute To Iwa K At FLAVS 2023

JAKARTA - FLAVS 2023 presents an award for Indonesian hiphop legend Iwa Kusuma alias Iwa K. Dozens of singers and musicians appeared in Tribute to Iwa K at Gambir Expo Kemayoran, North Jakarta on Saturday, October 14.

Saykoji, Ipang Lazuardi, Black Skin, Dewi Gita, DPMB, Faye Risakotta, Jamie Aditya, Jayko, Juanita a.k. Jaydee, Laze, Matter Mos, P-Squad, Paul Latumahina, The Akar, Tuan Tigabela and Yocko performed Iwa K's songs with the band and background singers.

P-Suad appeared to open Tribute to Iwa K by performing the song Tikus Got. Then, the show continued with Blackskin featuring Nombok Dong.

The atmosphere on Stage Rhyme & Grind is getting more and more crowded with Tuan Tigabelas and Jamie Aditya who sings Kram Brain. Next, Paul Latumahina brought back, a song from the first album that brought Iwa K known as rapper.

Iwa K finally appeared before the audience who was present. Together with Ipang Lazuardi and Jamie Aditya, he performed a song called Jogetin.

Then, the collaboration of Dewi Gita and Yacko performed with the song Apa Seeh?, as well as the collaboration between Saykoji and Faye Risakotta to perform the song Malam Indah.

Among the two repertoires, the iconic song Batman Kasarung is performed. The song with Sundanese lyrics is sung by the band and background singer.

"For Batman Kasarung, all performers have been asked to perform this song, but no one can. This song is only Iwa K who can perform it," said one background singer.

"Earlier we sang it only during the chorus. Thank you Iwa K, for making a song that no one else could perform," he continued.

In the last repertoire, iconic, Free songs are played. Each audience participated in singing the chorus of this song together.

On stage, Iwa K and all the performers were presented. The 52-year-old rapper also hugged the performers one by one. He also expressed his gratitude for what was presented that night.

"Thank you very much for everyone who has come. Thank you for making hiphop alive. You are the one who's making hiphop alive," said Iwa K.

Apart from Iwa K, the first day of the FLAVS event also presented Lil Pump, Endah N Rhesa, Kunto Aji, St. Loco, Mukarakat, and many other performers.

Not only that, but there are also BBoy/BGirl Battle, Open Style Battle, and Beatbox Battle which take place at the Urban Cypher Stage.

Meanwhile, on the second day of Sunday, October 15, FLAVS 2023 will present other musicians, namely Dababy, Maliq & D Essentials, Tiara Andini, RAN, The Soulful, GAC, Paul Partohap, and many more.
