Kula Shaker Prepares New Song Inspired By The Vocalist's Childhood
JAKARTA - The British psychedelic rock unit, Kula Shaker, will release a new single.
The band will release a new song, Indian Record Player, on October 13, which is taken from their upcoming new album Natural Magic.
Vocalist Crispian Mills said the song was inspired by his childhood, which grew near Southall in the 1970s.
A friend twisted me a Mughal-E-Azam soundtrack that is similar to the Indian film Gone With The Wind and it really surprised me. It feels like finding another planet, another world with this amazing music," he added through a press release.
The band also recorded a Bollywood-inspired video to accompany a song featuring British bhangra artist Johnny Kalsi from the Dhol Foundation.
Kula Shaker's newest single follows the Waves which was released early in the summer. This is the second song to be performed from a new album that will come out on January 26, 2024.

These new songs appear in a very similar way to the way we recorded our debut album 'K' when we were often supporting artists and had only half an hour to charm people," Mills said of a new album, which follows the album 1st of the Congregational Church Of Eternal Love And Free Hugs (2022).
"If you can bring listeners on an incredible journey in less than three minutes, there is a sensation and excitement in it," he concluded.
