PSG President Yakin Kylian Mbappe Tetap Bertahan
JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi expressed his belief that Kylian Mbappe will stay at the Parc des Princess next season.
Mbappe was rumored to be joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2022. However, the transfer failed to materialize after the former US star Monaco signed a two-year extension with PSG until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Although covered by the option of another 12-month extension in his new contract, Mbappe sent a letter to the club earlier this year confirming that he did not want to activate the clause, making PSG risk losing him for free by 2024.
Not wanting to lose the second most expensive player in the world for free, PSG struggled to sell Mbappe for the summer. Unfortunately, the effort met strong resistance from the player, who has several times insisted that he intends to spend his contract in Paris.
Al-Hilal's 259 million-pound world record offer was reportedly accepted by PSG, but Mbappe declined to negotiate with the Saudi Pro League giants. On the other hand, Real Madrid did not renew their interest after signing Joselu on loan from Espanyol.
In the middle of the match, Mbappe was told to train with a group of other PSG 'throws' players. But, entering the start of the season, he was reintegrated back into Luis Enrique's first team squad after holding constructive talks with the club.
The 24-year-old returned to enjoying a productive start this season scoring eight goals in six appearances in all tournaments, but no changes in his contract situation, despite rumors of an extension.

The France international has scored a total of 220 goals and 98 assists in 266 games for PSG, despite his attempts to help the club win the Champions League trophy repeatedly ending in failure.
