BPH Migas Asks KAI To Optimize The Utilization Of Subsidized Fuel
JAKARTA - BPH Migas asked the Indonesian Railway (KAI) to optimize the use of the subsidized fuel quota provided by the government. One of them is by planning needs better and more accurately.
Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati said that saving subsidized fuel is needed considering that the government has limitations in preparing subsidies.
The government has limitations in preparing subsidies. On the other hand, the growth in fuel demand continues to increase from year to year. Therefore, it is necessary to save the use of subsidies, including by continuing to encourage people to use mass transportation modes such as trains," he said in an official statement, Thursday, September 28.
Erika said KAI could optimize its utilization by planning its needs better and more accurately, so that it is right on target and according to its designation.
To support the use of subsidized fuel on target, Erika filed for BPH Migas assessing that coordination needs to be increased if there is potential for an increase or adjustment of the subsidized fuel quota.
"For example, if there is a plan to add to train travel, it should be coordinated by KAI with BPH Migas long before," he said.
In addition, Erika also asked KAI to increase supervision of the use of subsidized fuel through the use of information technology, as well as internal supervision.
So as to assist the government in the distribution and distribution of subsidized fuel.

Meanwhile, KAI President Director Didiek Hartyantyo admitted that he was ready to support the increase in synergy between BPH Migas and KAI so that optimal cooperation was achieved, so that the use of subsidized fuel could be carried out correctly and safely.
"Let us build a better understanding, collaboration, so that the use of subsidized fuel consumption is truly good governance and trust. This means that this mandate is beneficial for the community with a strong foundation," concluded Didiek.
