Bengkulu Police Examine 18 Witnesses In The Seluma BPBD Budget Corruption Case

BENGKULU - Sub-Directorate I of Corruption Crimes (Tipidkor) of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Bengkulu Police conducted an examination of 18 people related to the corruption case at BPBD Seluma Regency.

The examination was carried out in connection with the alleged corruption case of Unexpected Expenditures (BTT) in the Emergency Response budget at the K Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

"We are still processing the case, and today (27/9) we are calling and examining 18 witnesses again," said the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Bengkulu Police, Kombes Pol I Wayan Riko Setiawan, through the Head of Sub-Directorate for Tipidkor, Ditreskrimsus, Bengkulu Police, Kompol Khoiril Akbar, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 27.

The witnesses examined were the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Seluma Regency Government such as the Regional Finance Agency (BKD) and BPBD.

Meanwhile, the examination of the Head of BPBD Seluma Regency has been carried out more than three times related to corruption cases.

In addition, investigators from the Corruption Crime Investigation Directorate of the Bengkulu Police, assisted by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, have also carried out a case title to determine the crime and who is suspected of being involved in the alleged corruption case.

Khoiril said that the examination of the Head of BPBD Seluma Regency was carried out related to the case of emergency response activities in handling disasters in the form of physical construction work which was allegedly not in accordance with the specifications and volume in the contract so that it could potentially cause state losses.

The amount of state losses for the corruption case of emergency response funds at the Seluma Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency based on the results of an audit from the Bengkulu Supervisory and Finance Agency (BPKP) reached Rp1.5 billion.

In 2022, the Seluma Regency Government has budgeted Unexpected Expenditures (BTT) worth IDR 4.77 billion and IDR 4.19 billion managed by BPBD to finance disaster emergency response handling in the region.

The budget is divided into eight activities, namely carrying out rehabilitation of suspension bridges in Padang Merbau Village, Pagar Banyu Village and Ulu Talo Village.

Installation of Bronjong, the water suspension bridge, Seluma Village, Puguk Village, Construction of the Boks Culvert, Jenggalu Riak Siabun 1 Section, Sukaraja District, and Jalan Kabupaten, to be precise, in esa Lubuk Gadis, Pembangunan Petasan Tebing Kantor Bupati I.

Furthermore, the construction of the Cliff Layer of the Regent II Office, the Construction of the Beronjong Jalan Bungamas Pasar Sembayat in East Seluma District and other non-physical activities.
