President Jokowi Greets Residents At Bogor Botanical Gardens While Cycling
BOGOR - President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) took advantage of the weekend holiday on Sunday morning to cycle around the Bogor Botanical Gardens, Bogor City, West Java, while greeting residents.
Reporting from a statement from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat published in Jakarta today informed that the activity took place at around 08.00 WIB, Sunday, September 17.
President Jokowi began pedaling a bicycle from the Bogor Presidential Palace to the Bogor Botanical Gardens.
The Press Bureau of the President reported that people who were also filling the weekend by exercising in the morning also greeted President Jokowi and shouted asking for a group photo.
President Jokowi also stopped his bicycle and stopped when he heard the public calling him, one of which was Anggun.
"I screamed earlier and called, and the President stopped. He was called to continue taking photos together. I'm very happy, I finally found it," said Anggun, who admitted that he was dancing that morning.
Endah, a native of Pacitan, now lives in Depok. He who was cycling with his husband and two children did not expect to meet the Head of State in Bogor.
"I didn't expect it. I'm happy, I'm friendly, I was shouted at and stopped, I was amazing. Immediately, 'Here, here'. I wish you a long life, always be healthy, basically Pak Jokowi is extraordinary," he said.
Another story came from Diana, a Merauke resident who was happy to be able to bring his son, Samuel, meet and take pictures with President Jokowi. He had tried to meet with President Jokowi when the President visited the Bulog Warehouse in Dramaga and when delivering his speech at the 60th Anniversary IPB.
"This is my son yesterday when you went to Bulog, came home from school and immediately wanted to meet him, but you were already in the car. When you were on campus (IPB) you were in the car. Eh, thank God, today we finished worship, we were allowed to meet," he said.
"Praise God, Samuel is very happy to be allowed to meet Mr. Jokowi after a long time of longing. In fact, he has been praying since Tuesday 'God, I want to meet Mr. Jokowi, I want to take a photo'. Thank God today Samuel can meet, Samuel is very happy," he said.
Diana also prayed that President Jokowi would always be given health. According to him, President Jokowi is a special figure for the Papuan people.
"Our prayers are that you are healthy, long life. You are special for us Papuans and we really love you," he said.
