Dozens Of Vehicles Passing On Jalan Asia Afrika Senayan Not Passing Emission Test

JAKARTA - A number of vehicles passing on Jalan Asia Afrika, Senayan, Central Jakarta did not pass the emission test. Based on the records of the inspection results carried out by officers, there were 18 cars that had high gas emissions.

Head of the Central Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-dept. Slamet Riyadi said, although many did not pass, they were only given a warning.

"This is still a pre-azia first, we are still warning motorists to carry out emission testing activities to test vehicles," Slamet told reporters, Friday, August 25.

Slamet added that the police will later impose a ticket starting September 1, 2023, in the future.

"According to the information we received, from the Office and the police, it will be effective for the implementation of the ticketing to be carried out as of September 1," he said.

"The implementation itself will later apply a ticket to vehicles that do not pass the emission test," he said.

This activity was carried out as one of the policy efforts to unravel air pollution that occurred in Jakarta. Two-wheeled vehicles that do not pass the emission test will be subject to a ticket of IDR 250 thousand, while four-wheeled vehicles amounting to IDR 500 thousand.

Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman said the emission test ticketing rule would be implemented on Saturday, August 26, 2023 this week.
