Reaching the Target, Pertamina EP Records Production of 71,485 BOPD

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina EP (PEP) as a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) managed to record a volume of oil production of 71,485 barrels per day (BOPD) or 100 percent of the target set in the 2023 Work Plan and Corporate Budget (RKAP).

Meanwhile, the achievement of gas production also touched 100 percent with a production volume of 848.42 MMSCFD.

As for the realization of oil lifting of 70,727 BOPD equivalent to 101 percent and gas lifting of 631.73 MMSCFD or 103 percent of the target.

PEP President Director Wisnu Hindadari explained, achieving this target was an additional production coming from 44 development wells, 95 workover wells, and 994 job well services.

"A 50 square kilometer (km2) 3D seismic survey has been realized from the target of 186 km2," he told the media, Wednesday, August 23.

While project activity until the second quarter of 2023 comes from the contribution of several onstream projects, including the Separation System Production Facility in Phase 2 of the Optimization-1 Development Project for the Great Bamboo Field (BBS), Upgrading SP Karangbaru, Poleng Field Development Project, completion of the flowline and production of the BNG well -D2, and completion of Mahakam Sangasanga North Injection Network Upgrading.

The production contribution from the results of the field development project taking into account the economics of the project, is able to provide good enough revenue for the sustainability of PEP.

Wisnu conveyed that the results that exceeded this target were realized thanks to the commitment of the Officers and the support of SKK Migas and related stakeholders, thus giving hope in the future to continue to work optimally in each PEP WK.

Drilling performance in the second semester is expected to meet the target so that it is ready to increase production at PEP.

"Again, I remind all officers to always uphold HSSE and integrity aspects in every activity we carry out. Nothing is more priority than the safety of all of us," said Wisnu.

In addition, as a manifestation of efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the energy sector, PEP is carrying out a decarbonization project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Jatibarang PEP field in Indramayu started by implementing Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) or Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) using the CO2 injection method in oil and gas wells.
