Biden Declares New Allies with South Korea and Japan
JAKARTA - President of the United States Joe Biden held a meeting with the theme of new allies with his 2 new partners, Japan and South Korea. The trilateral partnership meeting took place in one of the historic places in the United States, Camp David.
The trilateral partnership meeting discussed some of the new steps that are taking place in defense, technology, education, and other key areas of cooperation. And the three leaders promised that that commitment stood the test of time.
"This is the first summit I've hosted at Camp David, and I don't think there is a suitable location to start the next era of cooperation," Joe Biden said at a joint news conference, standing between Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korea. President Yoon Suk Yeol at his presidential retreat in Maryland and vowed that the commitments the leaders agreed on would stand the test of time. "It's about decades and decades."

Other steps include an agreement to hold an annual meeting of the three heads of state aimed at boosting ballistic missile defense cooperation, and a new hotline to help the three governments communicate during a crisis.
On the issue of economic security, the three leaders agreed to cooperate more closely to shore up global supply chains with "early warning" systems to prevent shortages of critical technologies.
The summit is designed to be rich in symbolism in that the Camp David location symbol points to the site of the historic 1978 peace agreement between Israel and Egypt.
Joe Biden wants to celebrate with Seoul and Tokyo moving beyond decades of mutual accusations to a new friendship that has grown out of a desire to fight common enemies including China and North Korea.
