There Is A Problem, Jabodebek LRT Operations Can Resign From The Schedule
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi revealed that the operation of the Jabodebek LRT for the public could be delayed from the initial schedule. The reason is, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that operational operations can only be opened after successful trials.
For your information, the operation of the Jabodebek LRT for the public was originally scheduled to start July 12 on August 18. After that, on August 18, the Jabodebek LRT will be inaugurated by President Jokowi.
"I asked the President for advice, the President was very wise, basically you did the trial. When the trial was successful, we opened it. So it could be August 20, or August 30," he said at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, August 3.
Budi said, currently there is a team from Siemens who will check the readiness of the Jabodebek LRT operation in detail from August 1 to August 30.
Meanwhile, Siemens is one of the parties involved in the Jabodebek LRT Project. Siemens is a contractor in charge of working on the Jabodebek LRT development software.
Budi emphasized that the Jabodebek LRT trial is very important. Because, after being inaugurated and opened to the public, the Jabodebek LRT operational cannot be stopped.
"If the train starts, it can't stop. It's better if we are conservative," he said.
Furthermore, Budi said there were three tests that had to be passed. He said, not only can the train run, but it can also run with a maximum load.
"The test is not just a road test, there are three tests carried out, we have to run the 31 trainset trains. Second, we have to give a maximum load. Third, he has to walk everything with a load and a headway of 3 minutes," he said.
"Well, this is indeed a process that is not easy. And God willing, in the last two weeks there have been a lot of improvements and I appreciate my friends working hard," he continued.

For your information, the Jabodebek LRT is targeted to operate this year. However, this project has a wrong construction design record on the longspan or long span arch bridge from Gatot Subroto to Kuningan.
The fault was allegedly from the tilt angle of the train. Because, at that time the bridge had been built by PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk (ADHI), but no tests were carried out first.
Because of this wrong design, the bend is narrow. Thus, the Jabodebek LRT train must reduce speed when crossing the bend.
If the bend is wider, the LRT can turn while the speed up. However, because it was already there, the LRT had to run only 20 km per hour when it was stuck.
