Sandiaga Meets Four Eyes With Jokowi At The Palace
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) who is also Chairman of Bappilu PPP Sandiaga Uno held a one-on-one meeting with President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
"The meeting we only discussed tourism together. But there were also light discussions. Light discussions, thin discussions about politics," Sandiaga said when met after a meeting at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 1.
Sandiaga revealed the political discussions discussed with the President, among others, regarding Sandiaga's activities after two months of joining PPP.
He conveyed to the President about the various aspirations of the community from the results of his visits to the field, namely regarding inflation, employment needs, and the importance of a clean government of corruption.
In addition, said Sandiaga, President Jokowi left a number of messages for PPP.
"Later, of course (the message) I will convey to Mr. Mardiono (Plt Chairman of PPP), and there are several hopes that PPP, especially me who is at the forefront of maintaining the political narrative so that we do not become polarized. But we unite and we maintain the integrity of the nation," he said.
Sandiaga revealed that his meeting with the President also discussed him entering the stock exchange for a vice presidential candidate accompanying the presidential candidate from PDIP Ganjar Pranowo.
He conveyed to Jokowi that there had been no progress regarding the proposal. Sandiaga is still waiting for the PDI-P's decision.
"This is still waiting for the PDIP's decision, from Mrs. Mega (PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri) and of course we really respect it and in terms of several meetings with Mr. Ganjar and the chemistry that has been built so far," he said.

Sandiaga said that while at the Palace, Tuesday, he had met with the Minister of Defense who was also a candidate for Gerindra Party presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto. He had a chance to talk with Prabowo.
"I talked about exchanging greetings and I respect him. He's my senior," he said.
"Super good, super good relations. And yes like seniors and juniors," said Sandiaga explaining the conditions of his relationship with Prabowo.
