Australian Open 2023: 6 Indonesian Representatives Play Today

JAKARTA The first round of the Australian Open 2023 badminton event will take place today. A total of six Indonesian representatives will start their struggles.

The Australian Open 2023 starts rolling on Tuesday, August 1 at the State Sports Center, Sydney. Indonesia has sent a total of 18 representatives to the event in the Super 500 BWF event.

The details are three men's singles, three women's singles, five men's doubles, two women's doubles, and five mixed doubles. That number was after the pair Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri withdrew from this event.

For the first day, there were six Indonesian representatives who appeared. Four of them are men's doubles numbers, while the other two are from the women's doubles sector.

One of the men's doubles numbers that will compete is world number one Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. The pair will face New Zealand representatives Ryan Tong/Jack Wang.

Then the men's doubles Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani will also go down to the arena. They will face the Japanese pair, Akira Koga/Taichi Saito.

Furthermore, the women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, who is the seed of the seven tournaments, will be tested by the unseeded Korean representative Lee Yu Lim/Shin Seung Chan.

The veteran men's doubles pair, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan also got an opponent who was on paper as easy as possible. The fifth seed will duel with Canadian opponent Kevin Lee/Ty Alexander Lindeman.

The other two matches were Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi against Tanisha Crasto/Ashwini Ponnappa (India) and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin against Rizky Hidayat/Frengky Wijaya Putra (Australia).
