Kertajati Airport Operates Commercial October 2023, Minister Of Transportation Discusses Intermodal Integration
JAKARTA Kertajati Airport, Majalengka, West Java will serve regular commercial flights in October, after previously serving Hajj and Umrah flights. Intermodal integration from and to the airport is also prepared to make it easier for the community.
"Kertajati Airport is ready to serve air passengers according to the planned operational transfer of Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung to Kertajati Airport in October 2023," said Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, in an official statement, Friday, July 28.
Therefore, continued Budi, the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Land Transportation has tried to fulfill the integration of modes to and from Kertajati Airport on the Bandung and Cirebon City routes by bus and travel agents.
"The preparation of land transport shelters takes about 3 to 4 months. I ask the West Java Provincial Government to discuss efforts to integrate from Kertajati Airport to other cities and provinces and vice versa," he said.
In addition, Budi also requested that the West Java Provincial Government curate its travel agents who have a good record.
The development of Kertajati Airport has attracted the interest of several investors from several countries. Among them are India and Saudi Arabia. They have expressed interest in developing Kertajati Airport.

Meanwhile, West Java Provincial Secretary Setiawan Wangsaatmaja said that his party had coordinated with several land transportation service providers.
"This coordination is to fulfill intermodal integration to DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Central Java Provinces," he said.
