President Jokowi And First Lady Iriana Arrive In China
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana arrived at Tianfu International Airport, Chengdu City, Sichuan, China.
After traveling for about 5 hours, the President and Mrs. Iriana arrived at the airport in drizzling rain.
Indonesian Ambassador to the People's Republic of China (RRT) Djauhari Oratmangun and the Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Benny P. Nadeak each and his wife welcomed the arrival of the President and Mrs. Iriana under the flight stairs.
From the RRT side, the Minister of Education of RRT Huai Jinpeng, the RRT Ambassador to RI Lu Kang and his wife, and the Governor of Sichuan Province Huangqiang also welcomed the President and First Lady.
The arrival of President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana was also warmly welcomed by a number of RRT students who lined up to take the two to the vehicle.
From the airport, the President and Mrs. Iriana along with their entourage continued their journey to the hotel, where they spent the night during a visit in Chengdu.

The President will meet with RRT President Xi Jinping to discuss strengthening and increasing cooperation between the two countries.
"This morning I together with the first lady and the limited delegation will make a working visit to Chengdu at the RRT," said the President in his statement ahead of his departure at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.
The President explained his visit to Chengdu to fulfill President Xi Jinping's invitation and also to coincide with the 10 years of the Indonesia-Chingkok comprehensive strategic partnership.
Jokowi said the RRT is the largest trading and investment partner for Indonesia.
In Chengdu, Jokowi will hold a meeting with President Xi Jinping to discuss a number of priority agendas, both in the investment sector as well as various strategic projects for Indonesia and the RRT, as well as in the fields of trade and health, as well as regional and global issues.
Jokowi will also attend the opening of the FISU World University Games to encourage the Indonesian contingent who also compete there.
Jokowi is expected to return to Indonesia on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
