Elpiji 3kg Rare, Deputy Minister Of SOEs Will Add Stock To Each Depot
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo raised his voice about the scarcity of 3 kilograms of LPG (kg) or melon gas in a number of areas recently. He said, his party had conducted an evaluation of which areas were lacking.
The man who is familiarly called Tiko explained that this evaluation aims to map out which areas are curated and then the stock will be added.
Even so, Tiko claims that nationally there is no problem with the supply of LPG. However, Tiko admits that the supply to some areas is indeed lacking.
"We have reviewed that we will increase the stock in each depot. If nationally the stock is adequate, maybe in some right we need to drop more," he said when met in the Jakarta area, Wednesday, July 26.
Elpiji Stock Is Safe
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati ensured that LPG stocks were safe despite scarcity in several parts of Indonesia.
Nicke said that as of today, 3 kg LPG consumption during July has exceeded the quota provided by the government for this year.
"In general, if we look at it as of today, it has already exceeded the quota 2 percent. However, we ensure that the availability of 3 kg LPG is safe," Nicke told the media quoted Wednesday, July 26.
Meanwhile, Nicke said that the sale of subsidized LPG is still very high. Based on Pertamina's data, the household quota that has the right to enjoy 3 kg of LPG is 60 million households out of a total of 88 million households in Indonesia.

"Today, if we look at the data on what percentage of subsidized LPG sales in total are high. 96 percent. So we have to see if anything is not right in distribution," said Nicke.
Regarding the scarcity of LPG stocks, Nicke admitted that he was contacted by telephone by SOE Minister Erick Thohir regarding the scarcity of 3 kg LPG in several areas.
"Yesterday the president visited the market in Malang with the Minister of SOEs. With reports from the public, the minister called me," Nicke told the media, Tuesday, July 25.
On that occasion Nicke explained that the 3 kg LPG quota in 2023 is not much different from the previous year, but the distribution has exceeded the quota of 2 percent.
