The Bali Ombudsman Asks For A Retribution Plan Of IDR 150 Thousand To Foreign Tourists To Be Socialized
Head of the Bali Ombudsman Ni Nyoman Sri Widhiyanti asked the local government's plan to collect levies to foreign tourists amounting to IDR 150,000 or 10 US dollars first to be socialized if the mechanism has been determined.
"We also encourage how the new rules have a good socialization mechanism before it is implemented, don't let questions arise after being applied and complaints occur because this concerns citizens in various countries," he said in Denpasar as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.
To ensure that there are no problems related to the levy fees in the future, the Bali Ombudsman asked the government to be really ready.
"In addition to socialization before implementation, the legal details must also be clear, technical instructions, levy procedures, implementing officers, governance to the allocation of levies," said Sri.
"So a transparent system is prepared, if it can be online it is even better because it creates transparency, then what door payment. If it can be integrated, don't go through many doors because supervision is rather difficult," he said.
Later, if there are complaints from foreign tourists, the Bali Ombudsman admits that he is ready to accept reports to be followed up with Kitas or Kitap ownership requirements as a condition for reporting.

Although the retribution levy policy of Rp. 150,000 is not yet valid, so far the Balinese Ombudsman has been used to receiving complaints from foreigners, generally those recorded regarding health service reports, licensing, and related services in prisons or detention centers.
So far, several Foreigners' complaints to their party have been resolved, such as ending up mediation and providing compensation for health care, but some cannot be met, so it is important to anticipate first.
"Indeed, there are also foreigners who want services like in their country, for example, want compensation for money compensation even though we don't have regulations yet, so there are also things that we can't solve," said Sri.
