2 People Killed in Shooting in Auckland Ahead of Women's World Cup Opening
JAKARTA - Two people were reported killed in a shooting in Auckland, New Zealand (New Zealand). The shooting occurred ahead of the opening match of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup which was held at Auckland's Eden Park Stadium.

New Zealand police acting officer Sunny Patel said in a statement that a policeman was also injured. This policeman was evacuated to the hospital and is now in stable condition under medical treatment.
It was reported that the perpetrator at 7.22 a.m. local time opened fire in the building. The ambush was carried out by the police when the perpetrator locked himself in an elevator on the top floor of the building.
"The perpetrator was found dead a few moments later," he said.
