Elon Musk Launches XAI, New Startup That Buys Google And OpenAI Researchers
JAKARTA - Elon Musk has just announced the debut of his new Artificial Intelligence company (AI), xAI by bringing people who had had their previous great careers in various fields of technology.
xAI comes with the aim of understanding the true nature of the universe, which will be separated from other Musk businesses, such as Tesla and Twitter, but will continue to work with them.
Led by Musk himself, the new company brought in many great teams who are alumni of DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Twitter and Tesla.
The researchers are known to have worked on projects including AlphaCode DeepMind, GPT-3.5 chatbot, and OpenAI's GPT-4.

Meanwhile, with xAI, they will also focus on Big Language Models (LLM), deep learning and neural networks.
Apparently, Musk is presenting xAI to compete with companies such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, which are behind leading chatbots such as ChatGPT, Bard and Claude.
Musk's announcement of the company only came months after he warned AI could lead to the destruction of civilization.
The billionaire also joined other technology leaders to call for a break in the AI race that is out of control.
For information, Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, but later criticized the company for incorporating protection aimed at preventing chatbots from producing biased or sexist responses.
However, in an interview with Fox News in April, Musk revealed plans to try out his new AI business, as quoted by CNN International, Thursday, July 13.
"We will start something I call TruthGPT, the maximum truth-finding AI that cares about understanding the universe," Musk said.
