To Be Circulated In Indonesia, The Smuggling Of 4 Kg Of International Network Methamphetamine Was Thwarted By The Tanjungpinang Police
TANJUNGPINANG - Efforts to smuggle four kilograms of methamphetamine and thousands of ecstasy pills from Johor, Malaysia were thwarted by the Tanjungpinang Police, Riau Islands Police (Kepri) in the waters of the area.
"A total of six packages of methamphetamine were wrapped in plastic, weighing about four kilograms. Then, 19 packs of ecstasy pills are estimated to be 1,000 pills successfully secured," said Tanjungpinang Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Heribertus Ompusunggu, Saturday.
The Tanjungpinang Police Chief directly led the disclosure of the international drug case.
This case began when the Jatanras Unit of the Tanjungpinang Police Criminal Investigation Unit received information regarding a drug smuggling action from Malaysia to Tanjungpinang City via the route, Friday (7/7) night.
Following up on this information, a joint team from the ranks of the Criminal Investigation Unit, the Tanjungpinang Police Narcotics Unit and Polresta immediately carried out an investigation in the field.
After a series of investigations, the joint team finally managed to apprehend the three perpetrators suspected of being couriers of methamphetamine from Malaysia, Friday morning.
"The three couriers are tasked with taking methamphetamine and ecstasy pills that are collected in the middle of the sea," he said.

Furthermore, the police again arrested two other perpetrators suspected of being drug dealers in Tanjungpinang. Thus, a total of five perpetrators were arrested by the joint team.
The five have been secured at the Tanjungpinang Police Headquarters and examined intensively.
"We are still developing further into this case," concluded the Tanjungpinang Police Chief.
