1.5 Kg Narcotics Courier In Malang Arrested
Malang City Police arrested one suspect with the initials ADV aged 23 years, a resident of Klojen District who was found to have a number of types of drugs weighing up to 1.5 kilograms.
Head of the Malang City Police Narcotics Research Unit, Kompol Eka Wira Dharma, said that the suspect ADV, who works as an online motorcycle taxi driver, was arrested last weekend in Bumiayu Village, Kedungkandang District. "Armed with information from the public, officers conducted an investigation and arrested ADV. During a search at the boarding house occupied by the suspect, officers found a number of large amounts of narcotics evidence," said Eka, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 3.
Eka explained that a number of drug evidences were secured by the Malang City Police Narcotics Unit officers in the form of 25 plastic clips containing methamphetamine weighing 500 grams, three packs of marijuana weighing 900 grams and five plastics containing 17 ecstasy pills. According to him, ADV is a courier who will send drug packages to dealers. Later, after the ADV sends the drug package, the dealer will sell it to users in the Malang City area. "For drug dealers themselves, they are still being chased because the suspect knows him from social media so they never meet in person," he said.

During the examination of the suspect, ADV admitted that the narcotics brought were obtained from the Malang Regency area on the orders of someone who is included in the People's Wanted List (DPO). The drugs will be distributed in the Malang City area. "The drugs brought by the suspect were obtained from the Malang Regency area, on the orders of someone who is still a DPO. The goods will be distributed in the Malang City area," he said.ADV was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and/or Article 112 paragraph (2) and Article 111 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of a maximum penalty of death and a maximum fine of Rp. 10 billion.
