Examined By The Attorney General's Office As Witness In A Corruption Case, Menpora Dito: Really Sumir, I Don't Know Anything
JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo said that the issue of his involvement in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of 4G transceiver station (BTS) was really happy and he did not know anything.
"It's really fluid and I don't know anything. We'll just come later (to the Attorney General's Office)," said Dito at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 3.
Dito said that he first learned about the issue of his relationship in the case through the media. He emphasized that he had never known or met parties who were said to be related to him in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of the BTS tower.
"I only read what was accused in a media, because I never met and never knew, let alone accepted," he said.
The youngest minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet confirmed that he would fulfill the summons of the Attorney General's Office on Monday afternoon because it became an official forum for him to explain all information and to straighten out the issues he currently calls sumir.
"I'm happy to be able to come to the Prosecutor's Office because last week I was from Berlin (Germany), so I didn't have time and immediately took a long weekend, so today is an official forum and momentum that I think is very good for everyone," said Dito.
Dito on Monday also accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to accept Indonesian athletes for the 2023 ASEAN Para Games at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. However, Dito said he did not report to the President regarding the examination by the AGO.
"That's my business, I was accused when I was not Minister of Youth and Sports, and that's the accusation, that's okay, we will provide information and clarification later," he said.
Dito only reported to the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno regarding his certainty to fulfill the AGO's summons. This is because he is worried that the issue of his involvement in the alleged BTS corruption case could disrupt national stability.
"I'm just reporting to the Minister of State Secretary that I'm coming to the Prosecutor's Office, I'm afraid it's a crowded journalist, I'm afraid it can interfere with national issues, so I'm reporting it," said Dito.
