Police Arrest 2 24.6 Kg Of Marijuana Senders From Aceh To Jakarta

The Banda Aceh Police Narcotics Unit arrested two shipments of marijuana weighing 24.6 kilograms (kg) of the Aceh-Banten and Jakarta networks through one of the shipping expeditions in Banda Aceh.

"We have arrested suspects HD (30) and RM alias Gam Rusa (41). Both act as intermediaries and senders of 24.6 kg of marijuana," said Head of Drugs AKP Ferdian Chandra, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 26.

AKP Ferdian said, based on the suspect's confession, they had sent the illicit goods five times via expeditions with three different crime scenes.

He explained, on Sunday (30/4) at around 17.30 WIB at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Blang Bintang District through an expedition service.

Then, on Monday (15/5) at around 10:00 WIB at the expedition office in the Ulee Kareng area, and Tuesday (6/6) at around 10:00 WIB at the expedition office in the Lamnyong area, Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh.

At the first crime scene, marijuana was sent weighing 4.5 kg, the second crime scene was 12.7 kg, and the third TKP was 6 kg. In total, 24.6 kg of marijuana they sent via expedition services, "he said.

The two suspects admitted that the marijuana was sent to their destination, namely Banten and West Jakarta. The motive is only to get money.

From the confessions of the two suspects, they benefited from sending the marijuana type narcotics, which was in the form of money amounting to Rp. 1 million. Where each gets a salary of Rp. 500 thousand.

The suspect also sent the marijuana-type narcotics package through an expedition service five times, failed to be sent (successfully arrested) three times and made it to the destination twice before.

"Meanwhile, they get the goods from SP which is also from Lamteuba, and is currently a DPO (wanted list)," said Ferdian.

As a result of their actions, the two suspects violated Article 115 paragraph 2 Sub-Article 114 Paragraph 2 Sub-Article 111 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics. The two perpetrators are threatened with the death penalty, life imprisonment or a minimum of six years in prison.
