General Chairperson Of IMI Appreciates The Success Of The KFC National Championship Lake Toba Rally 2023
JAKARTA - The KFC National Championship of Lake Toba Rally 2023 will take place in the Toba Pulp Lestari Industrial Plant Forest (HTI) Sector Aek Nauli, Simalungun Regency, on 24-26 June 2023.
This championship was attended by 39 participants, who competed in 9 Special Stages (SS) with a total length of 151.23 kilometers stretching from Dolok Country, Huta Tonga, to Aek Nauli-Gorbus.
Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly and Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo appreciated the success of organizing this event.
"Vice Governor of North Sumatra Musa Rajekshah and his navigator Hervian Soejono managed to become the Champion after finishing the match with an overall time of 1:43:18.5. Followed by the H Rahmat - Hade Mboi pair with a total time of 1:46:25.6; and Bintang Barlean - Anondo Eko with a total time of 1:47:09.7," said Bamsoet after watching the 2023 Lake Toba Rally KFC National Championship via live streaming from Jakarta, Sunday, June 25.
Bamsoet explained, in addition to the National Rally Championship, in 2023 North Sumatra will also hold the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) International Championship. Namely on 22-23 September 2023 and 24-26 November 2023.
"As well as its peak in 2025, it is targeted that North Sumatra will host the World Rally Championship (WRC). Indonesia last hosted the WRC in 1996 and 1997. WRC implementation in 1996 in North Sumatra was able to generate a turnover of Rp 55 billion, with a record exchange rate at that time still low compared to today," explained Bamsoet.

He also explained that the various National and International Rally Championships further strengthen North Sumatra's position as one of the centers of the Rally championship in Indonesia and Asia, even the world. At the same time supporting the automotive tourism sports program in the North Sumatra and Lake Toba areas in particular.
"The participants who come from abroad will not only come for racing. But also spoiled by the natural beauty of North Sumatra, such as Lake Toba. As well as improving the economy of North Sumatra. People, business actors and tourism managers around the competition area will also feel the results. MSME players in the culinary sector, souvenirs, souvenirs, lodging, and transportation will definitely feel the economic impact directly," concluded Bamsoet.
