Director Of Hospital In Wuhan Died Of The COVID-19 Virus

JAKARTA - The director of the Wuchang hospital in Wuhan, Liu Zhiming died from the corona virus disease or COVID-19. This incident is to become the second famous Chinese doctor to lose his life due to the virus.

Previously there was doctor Li Wenliang who died from the virus. Li Wenling is the doctor who first issued an early warning against this corona virus.

The news was conveyed by state TV on Tuesday, February 18. He died at 10.30 local time.

Before it spread, Liu's death was confusing. On the evening of Monday, February 17, the Communist Party's propaganda department of the Hubei Health Commission posted a post on social media about Liu's death. However, it was not long before his party said that Liu was still alive.

"According to Liu's relative, the hospital is still doing its best to save him," the health commission said in a subsequent post. The commission added that the previous information was obtained from a good friend of Liu, who was not aware of the current situation.

Meanwhile, the Health Commission has not posted any messages since the state TV station announced Liu's death on Tuesday morning.

Reporting from xinhua.net, the City Health Commission stated, Liu Zhiming (51) is a neurosurgeon at Wuchang Hospital. He became infected with the COVID-19 virus while working to combat the virus. He died at 10:54 a.m., Beijing time, Tuesday.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Liu has led all Wuchang Hospital medical personnel on the front lines to fight the epidemic of the virus. He also made several important contributions to the prevention and control of urban epidemics.
