Ahead Of Wukuf In Arafah, Special Hajj Pilgrims Since Friday Have Departed To Makkah From Medina

JAKARTA - All pilgrims will carry out the wuhkuf procession in Arafah on 9 Zulhijah 1444 Hijri, which coincides with 27 June 2023.

The Saudi Arabia Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) has also reminded pilgrims to reduce outdoor activities ahead of wusuf because the temperature in Makkah City can reach 45 degrees Celsius.

PPIH Saudi Arabia said that all special Hajj pilgrims on Friday, June 23, had left for Makkah City from Medina City.

Head of the Special Hajj Supervision Section for the Madinah Working Area, PPIH Saudi Arabia, Rudy N Ambari, said that the last special Hajj group to depart from Medina on Friday to Mecca included 1,476 people who were dispatched by 25 special Hajj organizers (PIHK).

Rudi said that the special pilgrims who entered Saudi Arabia through the airport in Medina City included 8,999 people facilitated by 99 PIHK.

According to him, there was one member of the special Hajj pilgrim who was dispatched from his homeland to the city of Medina who died.

He conveyed that overall the implementation of services for special pilgrims while in the city of Medina was going well.

"Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly and there were no problems," said Rudi, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, June 24.

Apart from entering through Medina, members of the special Hajj pilgrims were also dispatched from their homeland to Jeddah City and then escorted to Makkah City.

The quota for special pilgrims for the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage in 2023 was originally 17,680 people, but then 640 people were added, including officers, to a total of 18,320 people because the Indonesian government received an additional quota of pilgrims from the Saudi Arabian government.
