Shocking Protests For TK-SMA Graduation Strengthening Parents, NTB Mataram Education Office Ready To Remove
NTB - The Mataram City Education Office (Disdik) has prepared a circular regarding the prohibition of the graduation of student releases from PAUD, TK, SD to SMP levels.
"We will distribute the circular to all elementary education schools starting from PAUD, TK, SD, and SMP throughout Mataram City," said Head of the Mataram City Education Office Yusuf, S.Pd in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday, June 16, as reported by Antara.
The statement was made in response to the proliferation of parents' protests against the graduation ceremony for the release of class students from PAUD to SMA levels. Parents think that this activity should be eliminated because it is burdensome.
He admitted that the graduation ceremony using toga and other equipment belonged to universities and was used by academics and for student graduation.
"If it's only the basic education level, it's best to just release ordinary students. There is no need for another graduation, let alone burdening parents," he said.
Therefore, the Mataram City Education Office will immediately prepare a circular concept to schools regarding the prohibition of graduation and supervision of schools that are indicated to carry out these activities.
"But because this year all basic education students have been released. So for supervision and evaluation, we will do it next year," he said.
It's just that, continued Yusuf, the prohibition on the implementation of graduation for elementary education students can only be carried out in public schools.
Meanwhile, private schools and madrasas are fully their rights and Disdik cannot intervene in their policies.
However, the permit for basic private education operations is from the local Education Office, but for certain policies Disdik does not have the authority, except in terms of improving the quality and quality of education.
"For basic private education, their permits are indeed from us, but our authority to control the quality and quality of education," he said.
