Central Jakarta KPKP Officers Have Not Found Sacrificial Animals With Lato-lato
JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agriculture Security Sub-dept. (KPKP) has intensified health checks on sacrificial animals sold in the Central Jakarta area.
However, during the examination, officers from the Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept. had not found any sacrificial animals exposed to the Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) or lumped skin or known as Lato-lato disease.
"So far, the examination of sacrificial animals has been carried out at 12 points in the Kemayoran, Menteng and Tanah Abang areas. There have been no findings of sacrificial animals," said Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Section of the Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept., Herawati when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, June 13.
A total of 12 points of sale of sacrificial animals that have been carried out by health checks are the minimum number, because the examination continues until Eid al-Adha 2023.
"Because there are only a few that have been sold. For livestock to be brought to DKI Jakarta, they must also attach a letter of entry permit for livestock from their area of origin. Until now, we are always wary of disease," he said.
As for the appeal for people who want to buy sacrificial animals, they must pay attention to health, such as the condition of the animals that look excited, active in movement, bright eyes, good skin, non-vanishing shiny hair, clean ears, good appetite, uninfected animals and old enough.
