Tanjungpinang Police Secures IDR 170 Million In Cash To Rolex Watch From A Gang Of Supermarket Robbers And Shophouses

TANJUNGPINANG - Tanjungpinang Police, Riau Islands (Kepri) secured evidence of cash worth Rp170 million from three suspects in the theft case with the initials ZES (29), RN (29) and MAT (30).

Other evidence was also secured including a metallic gray Hondabrio car, a black striped bag, and a Rolex watch.

"The value of the loss in this case is quite significant. For cash of around Rp. 320 million, some of which have been used by the suspect for personal needs," said Tanjungpinang Police Chief Kombes Heribertus Ompusung as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 12.

The police chief explained that the three perpetrators of the theft with weight were arrested by a joint team from the Tanjungpinang Police Satreskrim and East Tanjungpinang Police, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, while focusing on a hotel in a local area.

The suspects were involved in a series of theft crimes in the Tanjungpinang City area, including the Bintan Center Crown Supermarket with a total cash loss suffered by the victim of around Rp320 million.

Then at Ruko Grand View Number 3B, Jalan Aisyah Sulaiman, where the three suspects managed to bring a silver Rolex watch and a box worth Rp180 million.

In their action, they damaged the door to enter the crime scene (TKP) and stole valuables in it.

"We will complete the case files and develop other crime scenes. In addition, coordination will also be carried out with the Prosecutor to accelerate the transfer of suspects and evidence," said the Tanjungpinang Police Chief.

Currently, the three suspects have been detained at the Tanjungpinang Police Headquarters for further investigation.

For their actions, the suspects are threatened with Article 363 concerning theft with a maximum imprisonment of seven years.
