Crocodiles Attacked, Residents Of Bukit Layang Bangka Found Dead Floating
SUNGALIAT - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that a resident of Bukit Layang, Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on behalf of Thousands (39), who was suspected of being attacked by a crocodile in the flow of the Baruk River, a local village, was found.
"Residents named Thousands were found in the Baruk River dead at around 09.10 WIB," said Head of the Bangka Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Ridwan in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 2,
He explained that the incident of Thousands of crocodiles allegedly being attacked on Thursday (1/6) at 16.00 WIB, with two of his friends trying to install fish nets in the river.
"While crossing about a few meters from the edge of the river, suddenly the missing victim was allegedly attacked by a crocodile, while two of his friends at that time were safe," he explained.
In the search for victims at the scene, a number of BPBD officers were dispatched, including Basarnas personnel, Bhabinkamtibmas personnel from the Bakam Police, Babinsa personnel from Sungailiat Koramil, Laskar Sekaban volunteers and assisted by residents of Bukit Layang village.
Ridwan appealed to the public to be aware of activities in the river or in the reservoir of used tin seed mining to avoid the threat of crocodiles.
According to Babinsa personnel from the Bukit Layang area from Koramil Sungailiat, Serda Turahman, when found, the victim suffered injuries to the neck such as crocodile bites.
"The victim was immediately taken to the funeral home and the plan is that after Friday prayers he will be buried in a public cemetery," he said.
