Batam BPBL Releases 5,000 Badminton Fish And White Cap At Amera Beach
BATAM - Balai Perikanan dan Budidaya Laut (BPBL) Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau (Kepri), melepaskan 5.000 Fishmen di Pantai Amera Simphoni, Kampung Melayu.
Head of BPBLBatam Ikhsan Kamil said this was done together with the Blue Sea Supervisory Community Group (Pokmaswas) in the coastal area as an effort to preserve and maintain marine life.
"We are very grateful here that there are pokmaswas who are environmental guards to maintain environmental conditions so that they are maintained. That's why to make it more beautiful, we are providing restocking (filling) ornamental fish and white fish out of the total we are restockingsore of around 5,000," said Ikhsan as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.
He explained that of the 5,000 fish released, consisting of 4,750gal Fish and 250 White Kapap Fish. The restocking aid, he admitted, was the first to be carried out in Batam City in 2023.
"For the first year, maybe God willing, there will be a continuation and actually not only in Batam, later we will also have a restocking in Karimun Regency but maybe the commodities are not ornamental fish," said Ikhsan.

Meanwhile, for restocking, BPBL targets around 10,000 fish a year.
He further stated that the production capacity in a year reached 15,000 fish. "So if we have installed capacity and everything can go well, we can produce 15,000 fish throughout the year," he said.
Chairman of the Blue Sea Pokmaswas, Idris, said that he was doing a restocking of water and White Kapap Fish to preserve coral reefs on the beach.
"Maintaining coral reef ecosystems, such as their smallharvests that can be cleaned, and their eggs will become coral reefs again. That's why we chose the fish," said Idris.
