Deputy Chancellor III for Academic Affairs, Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM) reminded Jokowi to be more careful. He said it would be better if Jokowi continued to be able to equalize his frequency with PDIP related to the 2024 presidential election.
"There are many factors that make President Jokowi must be upright with PDIP. This relationship has so far been well maintained so far. Everyone in this republic also knows that Pak Jokowi's rise in the executive cannot be separated from the blessing of the PDIP," he said.
According to Surokim, do not let Jokowi become a peanut who forgets his skin because there is a PDIP service that carries them.
"I think the PDIP with its good services so far has brought President Jokowi and his family to 7 wins for almost 20 years. Namely twice the mayor, once the Governor of DKI Jakarta and twice the president plus the mayor of Solo for Gibran and Medan for Bobby. One privilege that Bung Karno's family didn't even get," said Surokim.
According to him, however, there are long historical factors that cannot be ignored and forgotten in this special relationship. This should not be harmed because it could potentially create a dysharmoni.
"Pak Jokowi, Bu Mega, and PDIP are tridents that cannot be separated from building the history of the nation's journey for the past two decades. And I think that history needs to be understood by Pak Jokowi's family so that they can always strengthen each other," he said.
Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled from 19 October to 25 November 2023.
As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.
Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
