Police Arrest Insults Of Prophet Muhammad SAW In Bireuen Aceh
BANDA ACEH - The Opsnal Team of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bireuen Police, Aceh, arrested a man suspected of insulting the Prophet Muhammad on social media.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bireuen Police, AKP Zia Ul Archam, said the perpetrator had the initials S (54), trading work, residents of Suwak Village, Peusangan Selatan District, Bireuen Regency.
"The perpetrator was arrested for allegedly committing a criminal act of insulting the Prophet Muhammad SAW through Tiktok social media. S was arrested at his home in Suwak Village, South Peusangan District, Bireuen Regency, on Thursday (18/5) at around 01.00 WIB," Zia Ul Archam said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.
S's arrest began with information that Tiktok's social media account in the name of Saifulakbar087 was suspected of spreading a video containing alleged criminal acts of insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
"Based on this information, the opsnal team together with Peusangan Police personnel investigated and searched for the whereabouts of the perpetrators, then the perpetrator was found to be at home," said Zia Ul Archam.

Based on the results of the investigation, the team moved to the house of the alleged perpetrator. The team arrested S at his home without a fight. The team also secured a number of pieces of evidence.
The evidence that was secured was a cell phone, a black t-shirt and a gold kupiah. The perpetrator and the evidence were secured at the Bireuen Police Headquarters for further investigation.
"Investigators are still investigating the motive for making a video of alleged insults to the Prophet Muhammad SAW and spreading it to social media," said Zia Ul Archam.
"Initial suspicion, the perpetrator is a mental disorder. The perpetrator is suspected of violating Article 28 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning information and electronic transactions," said Zia Ul Archam.
