What Is XLED? New Technology With Brightness And Contrast That Is Superior To LED TV
YOGYAKARTA Television has entered a new era, aka HDTV high-definition televise offers images and audio that are superior to standard television (SDTV).
This remarkable improvement in television display technology is changing almost everything currently being made, including television panels such as XLED, OLED, LCD, and QLED. It also shows how traditional assumptions about the physical limitations that limit manufacturers are currently being altered by this growing technology.
Talking about TV panels, all electronics companies have their own display technology lately, one of which is XLED. So, what is XLED?
What's XLED?
XLED is a television panel with Mini LED (smaller LED light) developed by Sharp, an electronics company from Japan headquartered in Sakai-ku.
Sharp's XLED was first introduced in 2021 and made his global debut at the CES electronics show in Las Vegas in early 2023.
Other electronics manufacturers, such as Samsung, have adopted a Mini LED TV equipped with Neo QLED technology since 2021. Meanwhile, Chinese TV manufacturers such as TCl and Xiaomi have launched a Mini LED TV before Samsung.
The reason Sharp launched his Mini LED TV is because the number of global Mini LED screen shipments has increased significantly.
According to data from research firm TrendForce, last year, the number of global Mini LED screen shipments reached 17.6 million units, an increase of 83 percent compared to the previous year.
Sharp's XLED is an LED backlight with a smaller (mini) size than the LED backlight used by most TVs today.
"The size is one-tenth of the size of the LED lights used by traditional TV panels in the market," said Daisuke Hirasawa as Division Manager, Global Products Planning Division Sharp at the Sharp factory in Osaka, Japan, Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Its smaller size allows Sharp to 'install' 88 more LED backlights in one panel.
Backlight LED is needed to display pixels on TV screens. This more light makes Sharp more easily regulates the dark, or the power of the lights emitted, in an image area with more precision in one area.
Sharp said there are more than 2,000 dimming zones that can be arranged darkly on XLED panels, so that TV screens produce higher brightness and a more concentrated black (black level) color than conventional LED TVs.
That's what information about what XLED is. Hopefully this article can add insight to the loyal readers of VOI.ID.
