Indonesian Political Indicators Survey Results: Majority Of Jokowi's Voters Ma'ruf Amin Choose Ganjar Pranowo
JAKARTA - The results of a survey by Indonesian Political Indicators show that the majority of voters of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019 presidential election have stated that they will elect Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.
"Most of them chose Mr. Ganjar, which was 54.9 percent," said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi when delivering the results of an online survey by Political Indicators entitled "Electoral Maps Post-Declaration Ganjar Pranowo as PDIP and PPP Presidential Candidates", as monitored by Antara in Jakarta, Thursday.
Meanwhile, continued Burhanuddin, another 24.8 percent said they would elect Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and 13.3 percent chose former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
"Meanwhile, those who do not answer or admit they do not know, there are 7.1 percent," he said.
The Political Indicator Survey, which was conducted on April 30, May 5, 2023, involved 1,200 respondents who were selected through the random phone number generation, validation, and scanning. The respondent was then interviewed by telephone.
The error threshold in the survey is estimated at around 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election for members of the DPR.
Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
