Since The Manual Ticket Was Re-implemented, The Police Have Secured 426 Motorcycles For Brong Exhaust Users

The Makassar Polrestabes Traffic Unit, South Sulawesi managed to capture 426 units of two-wheeled motorized vehicles because they used Brong exhaust or racing which was considered to interfere with hearing and violate traffic rules.

"We have ticketed and confiscated this vehicle for the next three months and are required to replace it with a standard exhaust before it is taken to be removed from the Resort Police," said Head of Makassar Polrestabes Satlantas Kompol Amin Toha, quoting Antara, Thursday, May 18.

He emphasized that the ticket was accompanied by prosecution to confiscate the vehicle as a form of deterrent effect to traffic violators in addition to disturbing road users and people related to hearing, including violating the rules.

The prosecution of hundreds of vehicles, he said, after two weeks the patrol team together with the traffic unit routinely carried out monitoring and operations on the streets, including finding violators directly while driving their vehicles.

"These vehicles were raided by a joint team with the Polrestabes Traffic Unit. Apart from being dominated by using Brong exhaust, it was also found that violators did not wear helmets, three rides, incomplete vehicle documents and did not pay vehicle taxes," said Amin.

All vehicles that are ticketed are required to settle them in court and pay fines at the local court as well as designated banks.

In order to reduce the number of traffic violations, his party continues to carry out routine and periodic patrols to curb the use of Brong exhausts for motorists including other traffic violators.

"The joint patrol in addition to securing vehicles using Brong exhausts because it interferes with hearing, also provides a sense of security and comfort for the city community from these disturbances," he added.
