Honor Budget Corruption Case, Head Of Satpol PP SBT Maluku Sued 8 Years In Prison
AMBON - Head of the Civil Service Police Unit of East Seram Regency, Maluku Abdullah Rumain, who is a defendant in alleged corruption in the misuse of the honorarium budget for members of the Satpol PP for the 2020 Fiscal Year, was sentenced to eight years in prison.
"Asking the panel of judges who examined and tried this case to declare the defendant guilty of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code," said the Public Prosecutor's Office. SBT Rido Sampe in Ambon reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.
The prosecutor's demands were delivered in a trial led by the chairman of the Ambon Corruption Court, Lutfi Alzagladi accompanied by two member judges.
The public prosecutor asked the defendant to be sentenced to pay a fine of Rp250 million, a subsidiary of three months in prison.
The defendant and witness Abdul Gawi Wayabula (in a separate BAP) were also charged with the tangent responsibility to pay a replacement money of Rp952 million.
"So each defendant must pay a replacement money of Rp476 million," said the prosecutor in his indictment.

If the replacement money is not paid within one month after the court's decision has permanent legal force, the property belonging to the convict will be confiscated and auctioned off to cover the replacement money.
If the convict does not have sufficient assets to pay the replacement money, he will be replaced with imprisonment for four years.
