In The Last Month, 5 Sexual Crimes Occurred In Batang, Central Java
Batang Resort Police, Central Java, revealed five cases of criminal acts of sexual abuse against minors over the past month, namely April 2023 until early May 2023.
The head of the Batang Police, AKBP Saufi Salamun, said in Batang on Friday that the perpetrators of these immoral acts came from a number of professions, ranging from Koran teachers, punk children, to barbershops.
"Therefore, we are serious about handling this problem, including inviting a regional leadership communication forum to hold a meeting to address cases of sexual violence against children," he said.
It was stated that the five cases were a sodomy case carried out by a Koran teacher with the initials TS (45), a resident of Kedungmalang, Wonotunggal District, then a barber with the initials T alias Muji (52) who molested a girl with special needs who was 12 years old.
Third, cases of sexual intercourse between the brother and sister of one father but different mothers that ended in extortion, cases of sexual abuse of a 7-year-old girl committed by the perpetrator with the initials C (37), and sexual abuse of a 15-year-old punk boy by the perpetrator with the initials T (21).
The suspects will be charged with Article 82 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 and/or Article 81 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia concerning Second Amendment to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
Regional Secretary of Batang Regency Ari Yudianto expressed his concern over the rampant cases of sexual abuse of children in the area which have now become a national concern.

The Batang Regency Government, he said, had formed a joint team to handle cases of sexual violence and would hold a coordination meeting regarding this matter.
"We hope that this case of sexual harassment against children will not happen again in this area. We must be firm because this case of violence arises from people who have to protect or from close people," he said.
